Introduction to MDPRO's Guide to the iM3 Working Modes
The EDAN iM3 is a customizable vital signs monitor equipped with SpO2, EDAN NIBP, and PR. Optional parameters such as Nellcor SpO2, SunTech NIBP, Oral temp, or Infrared Ear temp can also be configured.
While the iM3 is highly customizable, its new working modes make it one of the best all-around vital signs monitors on the market. Our Guide to the iM3 Working Modes will help you and your facility get the best use out of your monitor.
Monitoring Mode
The monitoring mode is best suited for single-patient continuous monitoring. In this mode the iM3 displays and stores physiological data as soon as the patient is connected to the monitor. In this mode, you can admit new patients through manual entry, “Quick Admit”, or barcode scanning.
In the monitoring mode, the iM3 continuously monitors SpO2 and PR and allows for manual NIBP and TEMP checks. The monitoring mode will give you 120-hr trend data of all parameters (SpO2, NIBP, PR, etc.) to help you better monitor, review, and diagnose your patients.

Ward Round Mode
The iM3’s ward round mode is perfect when working with multiple patients. In this setting, you can add multiple patients through manual entry, “Quick Admit”, or barcode scanning.
In ward round mode, you can manage your patients through the “Patient Management” tab under “Menu”. Here, you can add or remove patients to the iM3 monitor. This mode also allows you to import patient data from the network or an external USB drive.

Spot-Checking Mode
Spot-check mode is used for on-the-go spot-checking measurements and for multiple patients’ spot-checking data management.
In this mode, you can review your spot-checking data using the “Review” tab under the menu while in this mode.
